When it comes to selecting the style of venue, your personal and individual personalities, likes and dislikes will dictate to a large extent. For instance, a flamboyant couple will be drawn to venues that have an immediate ’Wow Factor’ such as a large and elaborate stately home in the country, whereas a more conservative couple might want to consider guest practicalities and opt for a country house hotel close to a city.

Check what things the wedding venue will provide, and what you’re expected to organise. Find out when your wedding DJ can get it to set up, all the little things need consideration, make a list and ask all the questions of your wedding venue.
Is it large enough to host a huge list of guests and activities you have planned already in your wedding? Here you shouldn’t limit yourself to entertainment and catering when booking your wedding venue. Is there enough space for dancing and entertainment? Do you have enough space for it? Is it has enough space to hang out over cocktails for non-dancers?
Once you have a rough idea of when you’d like to get married, the next stage is to spend time visiting different wedding venues to see which of them suits your wedding plans and most importantly your wedding budget. The idea of finding the most romantic castle to hold your wedding may be everyone’s dream, but if it is well and truly out of your price range, then you need to think again.
